We were delighted to hear of the new West Wing Clinical Research Centre being opened on 1st<\/sup> July 2014 at The Royal Marsden hospital in Sutton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u00a32.6million centre was largely funded by legacies and donations \nleft by generous supporters of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and is a\n shining example of how fundraising has helped the re-investment of \nresources at both The Royal Marsden Hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton, \nimproving cancer treatment across the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Centre will bring both early-phase and late-phase clinical trials\n together in one space with treatment bays, consulting rooms, a \ndedicated on-site laboratory and a pharmacy room. It will also enable \nthe hospital to develop personalised medicine and translate the latest \nscientific findings into first class clinical care for all its patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casablanca Hire was present at the Royal Marsden March on Sunday 16th<\/sup>\n March, a sponsored run or walk in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer \nCharity. All funds raised were donated to charity, giving it the fuel to\n invest and create its world-leading innovation centre, pioneering the \nlatest cancer prevention and treatments to save lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Marsden boasts the best diagnosis, treatment and care \nthrough state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technology for their \ncancer patients. Since 2010 the Marsden March has managed to raise a \nstaggering \u00a33.25million, and last year the charity raised \u00a39million for \nbetter facilities to battle cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casablanca Hire was humbled at the number of supporters, patients, \nfamily, friends, hospital staff and celebrity supporters who signed up \nand turned out on the day. The Marsden March is a sponsored walk between\n the two Royal Marsden hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton with the full \n14-mile route takes the runners and walkers through South London, from \nChelsea passing through Putney and Wimbledon before finishing off in \nSutton. There is a shorter 5-mile route available for those who want a \nless strenuous walk, particularly good for families, following the final\n 5-miles of the main route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year thousands of people turn out for the Marsden March to walk \neither the 14-mile or 5-mile route between Chelsea and Sutton hospitals,\n and it is a great way for people show support or honour a loved one who\n has suffered from cancer, or just to get involved to raise money for a \ngood cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casablanca Hire provided a marquee which hosted a big thank you party\n at the end of the 14-mile route, as a celebration of the day where \nwalkers and staff from The Royal Marsden\u2019s hospitals in Chelsea and \nSutton. Casablanca Hire\u2019s marquees and event furniture gave place for \nrest, rehydration and refuelling from the barbeque, which provided a \nrange of food for the participants. There was also live entertainment \nfrom a series of guest bands and children\u2019s activities such as face \npainting, welcoming the participants and family into the marquee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
