On the weekend of 19th<\/sup>-20th<\/sup> July we were at the largest Filipino gathering in the United Kingdom \u2013 Barrio Fiesta sa London!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is organised by the Philippine Centre and The Filipino Channel, who are celebrating their 30th<\/sup> and 20th<\/sup>\n anniversaries respectively, and pulled in a show stopping line-up with \nbreadth of Filipino celebrities, artists and talent lining the stages \nover the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catering Hire London grouped with Casablanca Hire were there with our\n marquees and event furniture, giving place to a range of different \ntents, food and drinks halls and just as a place for attendees to catch \ntheir breath and escape the beating sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hire team set-up in double quick time to guarantee we were ready \nwell before the fiesta attendees showed up on the Saturday morning. \nDuring the course of the weekend our tables and chairs were playing host\n to traditional games, a food fiesta for people to sample Filipino \ncuisine \u2013 which we found fantastic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fiesta is the premier event and celebration of Filipino culture \nin Europe, having grown in size since its first outing in Holland Park, \nto the point that this year\u2019s festival at Apps Court Far, near Hampton \ncourt Palace, witnessed record crowds gathering to join the celebrations\n of Filipino culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fiesta in the Philippines is a much-loved event for the citizens as\n it gives them an opportunity to celebrate all that is held dear to \nthem, such as Filipino culture, religious faith, artistry, drama, humour\n and friendship. In this the Barrio Fiesta sa London embodies these \nprinciples and replicates them at the festival, ensuring these themes \nare underlined throughout the fiesta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the hot July sun the Barrio Fiesta sa London was showcasing it\u2019s \ntheme for this year \u2013 togetherness and partnership. The fiesta brings \ntogether Filipinos and Filipinos-at-heart people from right across the \nUK and neighbouring countries in Europe and beyond, and in unison they \nall celebrate Philippine culture, cuisine and have a fantastic time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside this aspect the fiesta is looking to help good causes with \nthe proceeds raised from the two days. For instance they donated \u00a33,000 \nto a Filipino relief programme setup up to tackle natural calamities and\n aid in rehabilitation projects. The money will help fund the operation \nof this programme and underlines the nature of the fiesta; togetherness \nand partnership, aiding those Filipinos who are in need back in the \nnative Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In London that weekend, We were rubbing shoulders with some of the \nPhilippines household names, such as Pokwang, Enchong Dee, Shaina \nMagayao and Gary V, of whom some were involved in a meet and greet with \nfans throughout the fiesta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catering Hire London<\/a>\n really enjoyed the weekend were we learnt a lot about the Filipino way \nof life and was able to sample some traditional cuisine whilst enjoying \nthe breadth of artists, performances and pageants the fiesta had to \noffer. So much so that we are looking forward to Bario Fiesta sa \nLondon\u2019s 31st<\/sup> Anniversary next year\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
