Catering Hire London<\/a> group of Casablanca Hire was honoured to provide our services for the 72nd<\/sup> World Science Fiction Convention at London\u2019s Docklands from Thursday 14th<\/sup> to Monday 18th<\/sup> August.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We provided a whole range of event furniture, marquees and fixtures \nand fittings for the convention, commonly known as WorldCon, which is an\n annual international gathering of the science fiction and fantasy \ncommunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you were a fan, author, artist, editor, publisher, academic \nor dealer, WorldCon has a multitude of events, presentations, talks, \nexhibits, art shows and auctions on offer across the five days. No \nmatter what venue or country WorldCon is held in the world, fans and \nattendees descend each year to actively engaging with one another and \nshowcase their devotion to science fiction and fantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WorldCon has been an annual event since 1946, having first been held \nbefore the Second World War in 1939, and was held in London for two \ntimes before. Since it is the third time the capital has hosted the \nconvention, and 49 years since London hosted the event in 1964, this \nyear WorldCon has been known as LonCon3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casablanca Hire provided a whole range of event furniture for LonCon3, such as chiavari<\/a>, folding<\/a> and brentwood chairs<\/a>, round<\/a>, trestle<\/a> and cocktail table, plus a vast range of catering equipment<\/a> and fixtures and fittings such as event carpet, lighting and table cloths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also provided a number of marquees, chosen from three of our \nmarquee ranges, which played host for a wide variety of activities \nacross the five day convention and gave all attendees a chance to take a\n load of and soak up the atmosphere with fellow fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our event hire team worked tirelessly to ensure no stone left \nunturned during the supply and set up of all our furniture and marquees.\n We wanted to ensure that LonCon3 was an event which will live long in \nthe memory of all the attendees, who came in their thousands across the \nfive days. We were proud and delighted to have all aspects of our work \ncompleted in time and well before the doors of Excel London opened for \nregistration for Loncon3 on Thursday 14th<\/sup> August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With LonCon3 showcasing all aspects of science fiction and fantasy, \nwhether a fan of novels, film, TV, art, comics, anime and manga or \ngaming, with a diverse programme on offer across the five days the \nattendees were definitely not to be disappointment. Many of whom threw \nthemselves into the convention whole heartedly through costumes and \ndressing up as their favourite characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With special guests attending LonCon3 and the Hugo Awards taking \ncentre stage, a leading award given for excellence in the field of \nscience fiction and fantasy, the thousands of fans were in for a real \ntreat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were honoured to be a big part of LonCon3 and all of our event \nhire team worked hard to ensure we delivered on one of our biggest \nprojects of the year.
